My wife was searching the hard drive tonight for our wedding pics (of all things) and she found my well hidden pron collection!!
 She said that I'm a perv, but didn't seem very upset. I explained that this was a collection that has been aquired over a long period of time and she felt even better.  So, do you guys have a pron collection? Is it well hidden from your wife / GF ? Is there any way to lock a specific folder?  Kris |

Mines on one drive, its alot of it, then DVDs when the drive got filled are in the desk.
No one else knows how to get my POS to boot. |

Burn it to a stack of CD's labeled "AR-15 repair, 1977 Pontiac Trans-Am Repair Manual, Learn to Program Your Computer with Perl in 7 Days, etc."
I guarantee that she will never look at them. Unless she is some sort of computer programming, AR-15 tweaking, T/A wrenching freak.

My wife keeps her porn DVDs on the shelf next to my porn DVDs.
Currently I have more by about a 3:1 ratio. However we usually watch hers more than mine. |

My GF found the original range report pics which included many more than were ever posted. Additionally, she found countless more pics of various different women in very compromising situations. Needless to say, she's become very shy around my camera.

My GF (now ex) found mine on the server not too long after she moved in.
I had just hooked up a desktop for her to use, created a home directory but hadn't gotten around to apply any security yet. She was just browsing across the network and found my folder.  She gave me some grief about it for awhile.

No DVD burner here yet. Besides, all the stuff I have was downloaded and is already sized for a 700meg CD. Kinda convienient if you ask me. |

No porn. Nothing of an overt sexual nature. in fact, nothing that would "embarass" me or my family if the contents of my home were made public. Something I learned from executing hundreds of search warrants. I learned that your private things are sometimes made public.

Back in my analog porn days I had a G/F helping me move into a new apartment. I made a run in the UHaul, came back, went to take some trash bags full of packing material out to the dumpster. One was really heavy, so I took a look inside-there was my entire collection of magazines and videos. Not huge by any means, but everything I had. She'd found it while unpacking and thrown it all away. I walked back in with the bag and she was standing there, pointing at the dumpster, with a look on her face telling me I was going to be in for a serious fight if I did not comply. So what did I do? I said, "Bitch, this here's my porn, and if you think you're going to make me throw this away because of your stupid insecurities you've got another thing coming."
But out loud, I said, "Oh..kay." and threw it all away. It was a shamefully unmanning experience. I should have known then that I should have thrown her away instead.

Put it in a folder called "WNTS System 32.ddl" or something very computer jargon sounding, put it on the C drive and leave it.
Unless she's a computer nerd, she'll never go in it. (As long as you don't make it the biggest folder on the hard drive so that when you ask your friend to figure out why your computer is so slow and he sees that your hard drive is full and organizes the folders by file size and finds a 100gb folder called "Porn". I felt bad and gave him an old hard drive of mine so he didn't have to delete it. I figured 100 gigs would have taken a long time to collect.) |

I don't have to lock a specific folder. Windows doesn't know how to read my Linux drive, so to access anything on the Linux hard drive you need to know the Linux password, and wenever I leave the computer while running Linux, I lock the screen at the screensaver so you need the password to do anything.
My stuff is pretty safe. |
