Not sure about an FFL but I do know that you need a permit to have a BB gun (and I think) a slingshot there.

Yes, NJ laws really are that stupid, and have been for a long, long time!

You need to go through a FFL in Illinois depending on the velocity. Some of the newer air rifles velocity equals a .22lr.

I don't think you have to go through an FFL for an air rifle in New Germany.  You do have to have a FOID for long guns and a pistol purchasing permit for every handgun (airguns included).

New Jersey is like that greasy, unbathed kid you don't want your kids to associate with.
