that the left is out to destroy Christmas?

I was going past a marquee for a restaurant and it read, and I quote, "Santa here on(I forget the date, it did say a date."

However the word Santa was in quotation marks.

That struck me as odd...the liberal left doesn't care about the birth of Christ...so why would they care about Santa Claus?

Don't get me wrong, but not only is Christmas about the birth of Christ, but it's about being thoughtful of others and giving to others.

One symbol of giving gifts is Santa Claus...so why would you do something stupid like put his name in quotes on a restaurant marquee?

The notion that "the liberals" want to "destroy Christmas" is largely a bogeyman myth, brought on by a legitimate argument about the use of public funds for religious purposes (and which a few super-liberal paycho assholes take waaaayyy too far).

The average "liberal" likes and celebrates Christmas as much as the next guy, FWIW.
