So I go over to eHarmony.com and do their personality profile thing (what can it hurt, I figure?). No big deal. The results describe me to a T. Amazing stuff. So I ask it to give me my matches nationwide. I get five. Five?  And then, here's the kicker: They are ALL African-American! Now, I selected all ethnicities (a person's skin color is about as important to me as the temperatures on Pluto right now), but what are the odds? OK, all you statisticians: what gives?

I did the eHarmony thing. I was urged to do it by a friend, for shits and giggles. Spent time on the profile. Did a search Nationwide for all colors, races and creeds. Total matches? 0, zip, nada, none. So at least you got some.
Besides, I recommend conservativematch.com/ You're less likely to get a nutjob wacko there. |

 I KNEW this thread would be a hoot!  ETA: "Sweethearts, not bleeding hearts"!  I figure if I restricted just to white, I'd get zip. One's a doctor, another a lawyer. Joy: One can kill me surgically, the other legally!

Zaphod, back before I met my fiance I briefly tried eHarmony. What a joke! After answering all the questions and doing the profile it came back and said something to the effect of "you are one of a small percent of people we simply cannot match. we suggest you try elsewhere"

Disclaimer: I know nothing about eharmony ...other than the commercials.
If they hook you up with someone "just like you" won't you get bored? "Opposites attract"......and all that? Alot of the fun in a new relationship is introducing the other person to new things that you are into. |
