A few things I have found that have quieted the symptons of BRD:
Pistols: Collecting, building and shooting lots of pistols. However, it may be worse the BRD, the dreaded BPD. They take up less space, though.
Working: Too much time at work prevents as much trigger time or collecting EBRs.
Girlfriend: My next purchase will be her CCW. Thankfully, I have large hands and none of my guns "fit" her.
Porn: Lots of websites dedicated to firearms. Living vicariously through others keeps the symptoms at bay.
Lowers/Receivers: Anytime you want a new EBR, buy a receiver. Cheaper than a whole rifle. Sadly, it is nothing more than methadone for BRD, but relapses are a good time. Filling out a 4473 gives you the rush associated with buying a complete firearm.
UPS: Order something small and cheap, have it shipped via UPS. The anticipation for the Man in Brown to deliver your package is almost as good as when he has gun parts in that box.
Training: The closest thing to a 12-Step for BRD. Meet and shoot with others with the same affliction. Spend money on classes instead of guns or parts.
Tools: Personally, I am a tool whore. Every activity I tend to participate in has its own tools. A set of punches or "specialty tools" are cheaper than a rifle. You can fix other peoples' screw ups, because you have the proper tools.
Reloading: Anytime you want/desire/need a new rifle, load 1K of each caliber you own. If the withdrawl is still keeping you down, load another 1K. Repeat as needed.
Pack for a range trip: A few runs to the car, packing and unpacking for a range trip, without going to the range, is sure to make you realize you have too many guns. As a corollary, do not buy a bigger vehicle with the justification that you need to fit more stuff for a range trip.
Develop a coke habit: It's cheaper.
