Who is the most responsible for:

Liberating an oppressed country ruled by a murderous dictator
Winning a war of liberation faster then any other war in history
Setting up a working Democratic government faster then any other time in history
Setting up the first working Arab Democracy in history
Leveraging said Arab Democracy to force neighboring countries to liberalize their political systems
Bringing all the freedoms Liberals claim to love to an oppressed region for the first time in history
Making sure once and for all that Saddam Hussein will never develop Nuclear weapons, support terrorists, or otherwise threaten the US, instead of making excuses and passing the buck to the next guy
Doing it all while losing fewer soldiers then any other war in history
Doing it all while the entire Mainstream Media and millions of Liberals all over the country (including on ARFCOM) are desperately trying to find something, no matter how stupid, nit-picky, and inane, wrong with the war so that they can trash our current leadership while our troops are in harm's way.

Bush.  It was his lies that allowed us to go there in the first place.

Bill Clinton.....
He destroyed our intel comminuty & our military....

Insuffencent intel resources duped everyone, himself included.

Then he lost the elction for his hier apparent - Al.

President Bush then, using what we inherited, from the worse President in American history, with the approval of the Congress, the UN, made the only logical decision to take out Saddam.

Maybe while not palnned we did draw the anti -American terrorist into one location to destroy them in Iraq rather than have them came here.

And then today we have a democracy in the Arab Middle East.

Of course, the troops have done a wonderful job, and deserve a big +1. But, there's only so many poll choices, and this thread is about refuting the ridiculous allegations that the administration has "bungled" the war somehow.

What would the load of lemons be? The best equipment any army has ever went to war with? The plan that led to the fastest liberation in history, with almost no casualties compared to any other war ever fought? Or could it be the aftermath, with the fastest creation of a stable democracy ever? Please tell us all about it.

Well of the choices given, it has to be Rumsfeld since he is the lowest in the CoC and more involved with the day to day ops than bush.

In reality its all the troopers, company grade and field grade officers.

Even if you support the war in Iraq, I don't see how you could view this as an "outstanding success".  It's as if your car has been in a massive wreck, but you call it an outstanding success because after the wreck your car's wheels turn as it is pulled behind a tow truck.

It would be an outstanding success if we were gone already and it wasn't costing us money still.  I'm convinved that had we gone in with more troops to begin with, not disbanded the Iraqi army, moved rapidly to seal the Syrian border, and prevented more of the initial chaos and looting that we could have made a much smoother transition from Saddam to an elected government.

The best praise I could give for the Washington leadership in the war is "It could have been much worse".

It's also grossly premature to make claims like:

Setting up a working Democratic government faster than any other time in history.

Working would imply that the government can actually function on its own, which it clearly could not do now.  Were US troops to withdraw today, the "elected" government of Iraq would be out of power in a matter of months.  We held elections in Afghanistan pretty quickly too, but the Afghan government doesn't really control Afghanistan.

We're moving in the right direction in Iraq, I just think that we bungled it at the top level, and we could have done so much better.

Read a little history and see how well we did at getting Eroupe on it's feet after WWII, not until we started spending Marshal plan money did they get going, an we still spend money in military bases even though they don't fight each other and the cold war is over

The best praise I could give for the Washington leadership in the war is "It could have been much worse". Turn off the TV man you have no idea how good it has been going! Just ask some of the people that are doing the work over there, military and civilians. You would get whole diffent story that what the talking liberal socialist are telling you.

Working would imply that the government can actually function on its own, which it clearly could not do now.   An example of what an instant gradification culture results in, Thank God George Washington didn't have to rely on our countries support we would all be British subject still! Were US troops to withdraw today, the "elected" government of Iraq would be out of power in a matter of months.  We held elections in Afghanistan pretty quickly too, but the Afghan government doesn't really control Afghanistan. So how much control do you want a government to have? Give them a chance and a little time , they are new at this and it is getting better

We're moving in the right direction in Iraq, I just think that we bungled it at the top level, and we could have done so much better.

I bet you are one of those people who stand around on Monday morning and analyze what some coach, driver, shooter, SHOULD have done.  Must be nice to sit on you high horse looking down from on high, Oh by the way, when did you go over a CONTRIBUTE your time to make this work.

Turn off the TV and put down the OSM papers.
