I still believe that a 50BMG can kill any living thing on Earth if shot in the right place.........
bring it on KONG. |
Fools, didn't you see the movie?
Even in the original, 30 cal machine guns did just fine fired from aircraft. Don't know how it works out in the remake. |
+1...however, despite my utter hatred of most primates, I could not shoot a gorilla unless absolutely necessary. A chimpanzee, on the other hand?? Gimme a Barret Light .50 and a few mags, I'm goin' huntin'. Baboons??? Dillon Aero Mini Gun. |
Yep. And after you whacked the monkey you could have some more laughs and use it to shoot down all the little planes buzzing around the ESB. |
It's all about shot placement. A .380 with Speer Gold Dots should do it.
Ya know...that gives me pause.... HOW ABOUT WE DO A TEST? we'll need Gunkid, a 10/22, a .38 revolver and a wheelbarrel...... this could be fun..... "Tonight, on Crackhead Survivor....gunkid faces the ultimate test!!!! To get from one side of Skull Island to the other...AND BACK...with his "fully equipped" Assault Wheelbarrel.....ALL TO BE PERFORMED IN BARE FEET!!!!" |
So can a .22 short. |

.50 BMG would probably do it, but it would have to be fired from a machinegun as landing a single, or a few effective hits would be difficult. I say this because you would presumably be shooting at Kong when he is either on the move (difficult) or when he is on the empire state building it would be necessary to shoot from another building (if a suitable one can be found) or from the ground (300+ yds straight up). Both situations would be iffy at best.
My vote: M2 .50 BMG Or, if available during the time period: Lahti or Solothurn (Henry Bowman would be proud, if he was born yet) |
Ok you got me on this one, just depends on how you get your battleship close enough to the city to be in range. |
I can certainly get it WELL within 16 miles! Actually, I could sail that puppy straight up the Hudson River! ONE broadside, and it would be raining monkey guts in Brooklyn! |

I disagree. If you hit one in the eye or some other soft tissue, it could cause an infection that could kill the animal. |
I dought it, their eyes are as big as your head, a 22lr hole is nothing more then a scratch. Would you say a bullet that only may cause an infection be considered a lethal round? If so a BB is a killer! |
Hey you, what do you think would happen if we shot a f'ing AT4 at
A full power shot from Squatdog.
Realistically, I'd want something explosive like an RPG or LAW or Javelin. Gun wise, I'd at least want a Bradley with its bushmaster cannon, or preferrably an M1 Abrams. That mobile anti aircraft gun with the 20mm gatling gun would be sweet too. |

After rerading the 1911 Forum;
Apparently the 45ACP is the ulitmate caliber for everything, It'll have no problem dropping King Kong with a one shot stop. so I read anyway |
Mk19 40mm GMG.
Explosives put on target repeatedly and quickly are the safest bet. Hook a couple of the suckers up to an AH-6 and go for it. |
A little overkill don't you think? |
I think its been done before. I forget the story, but an elephant picked up this girl and all she had was a .22lr pistol. She put it inside of its mouth and shot into a soft spot, sending the bullet into its brain. |
