Last year, Westlake ACE Hardware was selling Daisy Red Ryders for $19.99. I bought none.

If they're selling them for anywhere close to that this year, I'm buying at least 10, and keeping them to give to my kids, nieces/nephews, friends' kids, etc.

Can't go wrong with a Red Ryder, unless, of course, you shoot yer eye out, kid.

.22 if you have the land.. if not a BB is figgin machine gun to an 11-year-old. Red Ryder is good...or a 10 pump for tree rats is always a nice choice.

Wow.  Tag.

I'm looking for a BB gun for my 11yo daughter as well.  She already uses my Romainan Trainer .22 but I'd like her to do some backyard shooting.

Yeah, I was thinking about a .22. But, its for my 11 y/o sister and she has never shot a gun before.  Just figured I would start her out with a bb gun and maybe step up to a .22 next year if she wants one.

Is the red ryder very accurate?  I never had one.

Thanks,
Dan.

if she is strong enough a spring air barrel break or side cocker. Pneumatic pumpers suck

Just got this for my 10 year old last week...

She loves it.

It comes with the glasses to avoid the whole "shoot your eye out" thing.  The Sports Authority had them for about $50.

I bought my 11 year old daughter a Glock 19 for Christmas. Just received it today.....pretty sweet she'll be psyched.

As far as BB guns are concerned, don't spend a lot. If she likes shooting, she'll quickly want a 22 and if she doesn't like shooting, she won't use it anyway. Red Rider sounds about right. My daughter quickly went from a BB gun, to a 22, to having her own AR15. Now a Glock....when will it stop? She's as bad as me . My poor wife.

My son and I do some back yard plinking with a Gamo 440 hunter.  The only problem is somewhat loud but it is 1000 fps.

Don't get a Red Ryder bb gun, they are crappy. I have one I bought when Midway was selling them for cheap. The first time I shot the thing a nut fell off that holds the stock on.

Do they still make the Crossman 760? If so get them one of those.

And if you still decide to get a RR I'll sell you one for $20 + shipping, it is missing a nut though.

Hmmm...that's not cool.  We put 200 BB's through hers on the first day without a problem.

Red Ryder, about 35 bucks anywhere.
got a couple for my friend's kids last year for christmas (I stole christmas)
the thing is remarkably accurate within it's range, it's very well set up and it's fast for the kids, one cock and you're off.  holds tons of BB's
bought more for some other's friends' kids' this year.
I want one now.

It ain't the nicest bb gun but it's a red ryder.    evey kid should see the movie with dad and then have one under the tree.   = priceless.

I still remember my first bb gun at the age of  6 or 7 I think. A brand new Red Ryder lever action with a pictue of Roy Rogers face branded on the stock. Complete with the little leather bandos hanging from the stock. Man those were the good ole days
