Okay, bear with me here: heavily involved in building an international AIRPORT in Erbil, which is in the SEMI-AUTONOMOUS Kurd region. Just happens to be a stone's throw away from Iran, or at least much closer than Israel already is. Iran is building nukes and wants Israel wiped off the map. How convenient to make real good friends, with an airport you helped build, in a region where you can theoretically be let in (read: land and take off from) without the central government's permission. Hmmmmm.......

Shalom!

ETA---I wonder what the "devices to upgrade Kalashnikov rifles" are?

Before you know it, the Kurds will be shooting Israeli bullets at Syrian and Iranian border jumpers.

The Kurds should be able to get the bullets through their own channels instead of going through the US Military. They could probably work out a sweet deal with IMI and leave our boys "in the clear".

I believe the Kurds are our only REAL allies in Iraq.

Good for them.

I had a friend in the Army who served as a liason with the Kurds.

He said the Kurds will be out friends for the next 500 years.

I worked with the Kurds.

I think we should have put all the Kurds in the Iraqi Army and police, eradicate the Sunni and keep the Shia under subjugation. That would be the ONLY way to keep the peace IMHO. Of course we would possibly be fighting Turkey if that happened..
