Howdy, all! Long time lurker, first time poster. I know most here have a weapon within easy reach most of the time, but I was wondering how many actually keep one under the pillow? So how about it? Do you sleep with a gun under your pillow? I sleep with an M4gery under mine. It's a bit lumpy, but I sleep very well knowing it's there.

I sleep with a Bouncing Betty under my pillow. That way I
ETA: I'm still in bed right now... |
Welcome CO, Not under the pillow . . . I've got two small children. But I keep my pistol in the top drawer of my dresser with a pulloff gunlock. It takes about 15lbs of force to remove the lock, but no keys are required. Disconnector |

I tried that once. I just couldn't get used to it being there and after a 1 1/2 hours of not being able to sleep I moved it.
It's tucked between the mattress and box spring in it's holster. Eff keeping it under the pillow.

James Bond does.
I lost all my guns in a tragic boating accident. |
No but I have one on the bedpost hanging inside of a shoulder rig and one in the top drawer of both night stands.
Not only no. But heck no! I move around to much at night and the thing would wind up on the floor every night.
So my Sig P220 is right next to my bed on the night stand. |
Not too paranoid are ya? |
no but i do keep my m4gery within arms reach while sleeping...
ETA: You sleep with an M4gery under your pillow? Doesn't that freak your girl out or anything? |
The fact that I am paranoid in no way precludes the possibility that someone is out to get me. CO |

No way in hell would I sleep with a loaded firearm under my pillow, but I do wear my Thunderwear to bed.

I keep my Glock hot on the nightstand, stuck just far enough in a Fobus holster to cover the trigger, but not far enough to have the detent holding it in.

I liked this thread better when it was on Glock Talk last week.
870 under the bed, glock 17 n=on the dresser, cant under pillow, arms under it plus it would bother me when I bang the girlfriend
Wow..got jokes Glock and the M4gery are by the bed...most of the time its just the Glock though. Every now and then I sleep with the .50 |
That's COMBAT Tupperware, thank you very much! |
Nice double entendre... |

My is in the bed, right where my ex used to sleep. I much prefer waking up to a cold Kimber than I did to her.
1911 With empty chamber and surefire on the night stand, Ithaca 37 leaning up against the nightstand. I move alot while im asleep so I have no way of knowing where my pistol might end up, this way it stays in one place.
Ok, those with young children in the house how accessible is your primary weapon? I have mine in a safe with the key nearby but I hate it. I wish there was a safer way to have it at arms reach.
night stand.
I'm afraid that it'll get pushed between the headboard and matress when I sleep. If i ever needed it I wouldn't be able to get to it as quick. I make sure that the pistol is oriented in the same fashion on the nightstand before I go to bed each night. Familiarity may equate to faster presentation. |
Dont ARs have quite a bit of plastic on them? You should all replace yours with wood or steel so they wont suck as much as Glocks. J/K I got jokes too. |
Beretta 92F between the box spring and mattress. S&W 27 in nightstand, and for when im feeling paranoid, one of my ARs next to the bed.
An AK under your pillow? Sheesh. PS: I'm one to talk...as I often sleep in my Ghillie suit. |
Quick release safe next to the bed. M4 on top of 7' tall dresser-type computer desk. 2 year old without rocket packs means she can't get to the M4 and safe means she can't get to the XD. Takes 2 seconds to open the little safe. I'm planning to add an in-wall rifle safe for the M4. |
Same here. Along with a tac light. |
NO because I know someone who had an AD while he was asleep with his Glock .40 He put a hole through an interior and exterior wall.
BTW it was about 2 inches from his head when it went kaboom. He no longer sleeps with it there anymore My AR is within Arms reach though |
I have a SAA on the night table, Winchester rifle next to the table, winchester under the bed and an M1 rifle under my Pillow (Unless th wife is home, then it gets laid on the floor next to the bed) If I am alone I also have a couple of 1911s in holsters on me as I sleep
Those aren't pillows...
G21 in the tall/narrow bookshelf next to my bed, in my duty rig. |
I keep my Glock tucked between the bed frame and box springs in it's holster. Muzzle pointed to the floor and handgrip towards the ceiling.
AR on the floor under the bed. |
IF you do that you better hope you dont finger fuck your pistol while you sleep.
