My Odometer on my Ford van rolled to 123456 today.... Cool!!!
 Oh wait... that COULDNT BE!! Fords SUCK, They are good for 80000 miles if you are lucky!  Nope, STILL the original transmission and engine.... BEAUTIFUL!!!  |

My Ford aerostar got 180k before I quit driving it. It still runs great though.

My Ranger is at 145,000. Slave cylinder went out 5000 miles ago, but other than that it has been great!

My 82 Bronco had 285,000 miles on it before I got rid of it, running pretty damn good too. I was 16 when I bought it and it went through everything from road trips to california to getting all 4 tired off the ground 4 wheeling. Tons of fun, great car.

Grandpa had this old '86 Mercury Sable wagon.... back then apparently the odometers only went to 99,999.9 miles.
He went around twice. That thing's old enough to vote and has something on the order of a quarter of a million miles on it..... passed it on to one of my younger uncles who was in a bind and needed a car. It still runs. |

Good for you and your Ford.
My personal experience is different with both Chevy and, Ford (Mercury). My Honda, OTOH, has rocked for 13 years and counting now. |

Had a Crown Victoria that was over 20 years old when I got rid of it this year. I had it for ten years, and it only went through one water pump, one alternator and two batteries.
It still ran great when I sold it and with 136,000 hard miles on it. The paint, suspension, and vinly roof was beginning to give out due to the age of the thing. Overall, a great reliable car that was built like a tank. |

I had a 95 T-bird that was great. It ran fine when I sold it @ 160k Nothing but wear items repairs.

DefriDge, my tercel has 145000 and hasnt had an oil change in over a year. but thats cuz we wernt driving it for a while. It does need one though

As long as we are keeping track I have a '96 dodge dakota with 260,000 on it and my wifes
'97 jeep cherokee has 290,000 miles on it. We bought them both new and i try to change the oil every six monthes or so. Oh yeah, and I replaced the water pump on the dakota about a year ago. That has been it for repairs other than breaks and tires. Dan |

My '94 F150 had 180,000 miles on it when I sold it this summer. It still ran perfectly, it was just starting to get a little cancer in the rear wheel wells.
I gotta say, it was a good ride. It did start to run a little poorly around 165K, especially when it was damp. Then I realized I had never changed the spark plugs. The gap was only about a quarter of an inch!!! |

Turned to 126900.0 just as I got back from the awuful waffle this morn. ETA I drive 44 miles one way to work. I used to drive 65 miles one way, so the miles came real easy! |

Hey we had Toyotas that ran 200K miles... I think a MAJOR part is maintenance. You keep it up and it will run for a long time. Hondas are the same thing (Good for 200K+ miles)... No way in hell you would convince my dad of that though... to this day when he wants us to pass him a lemon at the dinner table or out of the refrigerator, he will say "Pass me a Honda" He had such a bad experience with them. |

My wife's Winstar had 93,000 on the odometer when the water pump went out and she drove it till the engine seized.
"It was all the way up in the red but I thought I could still just drive home"  My '85 F-150 had 180,000 on the clock when I sold it. The guy I sold it to is still driving it with close to 300K. My current daily driver is a '98 GMC w/ 276K. Other than a new tranny about 20K ago I've had no worries. |

I hear people complain about replacing trannys in cars and trucks, but I look at it this way, if you can get 250k out of an "automatic" transmission, no one should complain. |

I had an 87 Crown vic up until about 2 years ago. It had 300 Thousand plus miles on when I traded it for a 98 Chevy 2500. It was a good car and it is still running around Tampa

Bah, got 261,000 on my VW, funny thing is it's a Corrado which is known to be the most unreliable VW they made. Original clutch went to 248,000

Had a Chevy 4x4 with 285,000 on it when I gave it to my parents to use as a farm truck. I bought a '97 Z71 and it has 168,00 on it right now and going strong.

Cool. I had a 1998 Ford Escort sedan with 192,000+ original miles and the original clutch. Could not drive it any further to see how long the clutch would last though. I got hit in April 2004 and insurance totalled the vehicle. Damn |

I think its all in the maintenance. You maintain your vehicle and it should last a long time... My ford van that has the 123456 mileage on it is going into the shop... Brakes need to be replaced and Alarm is screwed, But that is just part of the maintenance. i bought it used a two years ago and I can honestly say with all the abuse I put it through, I would DEFINITLY buy another one |
