Please note  in advance Striker has signed off on this being OK to do .
If any mods or staff can tack this it would be appreciated .

As you may or may not recall I posted this thread a few weeks ago .www.ar15.com/forums/topic.html?b=1&f=5&t=414457&page=1

The short version for the ADD types is that Mr. Morton is a Vietnam Veteran that rescued an American Flag that was being desecrated .
As the thread unfolded Backstop decided to donate the knife being auctioned to help honor Mr. Morton.

Here is a picture of the knife being auctioned .

The knife comes with the sheath and is brand new , but out of the package .

Backstop will ship the knife to the auction winner and refuses to accept any compensation what so ever  for this knife or the good deed that he is doing by donating it .

Our goal is to get Mr. Morton a plaque ( Which is covered already.) and a nice custom knife to thank him from AR15.com for doing the right thing as well as his service to our country .
Now being that this AR15.com and i know that there are very many generous people here that will want to bid and help thank Mr. Morton , I realize we may go over way over the limit of what we need to make this happen . If in fact that is the case I will start a poll to send the surplus funds to charity in the name of AR15.com .

This auction will close at 12:00 PM Monday , December 19th 2005 .

The bidding begins at $20 .

The winner of the auction will be the bidder with the highest dollar amount in a non edited post .
The winner of the auction will be contacted by IM and email the day the auction closes to transfer funds and receive a shipping address to pass on to Backstop .

Thank you every one .

Timothy

Edited title at staff suggestion .

$150. US currency of course. Paid by money order.

Please don't get offended because I'm a Canadian. I may be but I'd rather be an American and as my other post mentioned, I'm starting the process of relocating to your wonderful country.

And if anybody has a problem then beat my bid...

I'm glad to see this get up there, sorry I couldn't bid myself, but I certainly think it's a worthy project for a genuine Patriot.

And it's also great to see our 'Northern' friend (FreeAlbertan) get in on the action, you'll make a fine American, more than the majority of spineless morons that live exist in this once great nation of ours. That's OK though, thier time is limited, we just need a few good sheperds to run the flock out of here for good.

Heck, we welcome all freedom loving Canadians, even Striker.  That is if he ever decides to mosy on down this way. j/k

nickforney, congrats on the highest bid brother!

might as well put that fat military money to use on good causes.  less time down at fantasies I guess but for a true patriot why not!  might actually use it too.  or is this just a decoration piece of kit?

seems like the canuck dissapeared pretty quick

eta:  if there are funds over can I suggest that any spare cash goes to anysoldier?

No nick, I didn't disapear.
My bid is limited to $150. Remember I'm in Canada and that's like $2000 Cannuk money. hip

Besides, it's nice to have an American helping out a fellow American.

I'll be there for the next worthy Cause.
