Here's mine, the first one took me a bit over 10 years to acquire. In the end it came down to this prototype 107E by RGM. This is the only example with this specific dial, markers and hands. 2nd is a Gevril 15 degrees (the 4th I've owned) and lastly is an old school Hamilton; that movement is over 50 years old.

It's the watch I wear for special occasions (I did a good portion of the artwork for it, along with Energizer), normally I wear a Timex. I like nice watches but I just can't see wearing them regularly... a $30 watch keeps time just like a $400 watch. Oh well, to each his own. |

 Other watches... 3 play around watches, 18K white gold Cartier Tank Fracais, S/S Catier Tank Americana, TAG SL gold/stainless with AUTO movement  I have 2 others in a safety deposit box that are NOT covered by my insurance. |

I use a Speedtech Weatherwatch Pro. It took three years of begging for it, becuase it isn't a woman's watch....

I rolled the dice on a Russian automatic. 6 months later the logo has fallen to the bottom of the watch face and I quit wearing it. I do not recommend them.
 I also have the plain-jane white face, black numbers Timex and a collection of ribbon straps from Brooks Brothers and places. Very preppy. Currently using the Royal Stewart tartan strap, will switch back to the Blackwatch tartan after New Year's. |

I love nice watches but can rarely stand to have one on my wrist for very long. Not to mention I can often buy another 1911 for the price of a nice watch.....or, in the case of a Rolex a bevy of 1911s.
I also love all things old....the most current gun that I use was designed in the late fifties....I love old phones, clocks, cars, etc..... So, out of boredome and the desire for something that at least looked nice, I bought an auto winding Steinhausen...strictly for the look......and I have to admit, it's very nice looking.....nothing expensive, but it's old fashion and completely mechanical and works well for the little that I wear it ( only once a year ).....

The status watch thing has never made any sense to me. I'm too hard on watches for one, and for another, I'm just not into it.
Having said that I do have a rigid set of criteria for wristwatches. 1) It MUST be analog; not digital. I want to know what time it is and how much time I have left! 2) It MUST have a plain face either white or black with contrasting black or white NUMBERS; no Roman numerals, slash marks, hash marks or any of that other nonsense. I really hate slash marks because a wristwatch is always viewed from an ANGLE, usually with one o'clock oriented in the twelve o'clock position. 3) It must be accurate. 4) It must have a solid stainless steel case. 5) It must be at least highly water resistant or water proof enough to be capable of getting dunked fully into water several feet deep. 6) It's nice, but not mandatory, that it tell the day of the month. My wristwatch? A $100.00 Swiss Army watch; white face w/black numbers by Victorinox that I bought on sale at Sear's Hardware for $90.00.
