You know how Democrats are always saying that Log Cabin Republicans are self loathing people who are working against the goals of their own community? That's how I view people (especially rabid second amendment supporters like ourselves) who buy Colts.
It's clear to anyone with half a brain that Colt hates the second amendment and has almost no intrest in the civilian market (certainly no intrest in the civilan AR market), but so many of you still seek them out and plunk down ridiculous sums of money for their products. What is it about Colt that makes so many of you so willing to support a company that would rather not do business with you? Especially when there are so many other manufacturers that cater to the civilian market. I just don't get it. |
they're just like HK fags without the saurkraut and sheizer videos
Everything has been said before. I don't know why you and yours insist on bringing it up every 10 seconds.
1) Colt makes the best AR. 2) As long as you don't challenge us on number 1, we don't care what you use. Just don't ask us why the bolt broke on you 6.5 inch DPMS pistol upper. |
If Colt makes the best AR:
1)Why does the US Military mostly use FN's? 2)Why does Blackwater use Bushmasters? Also Who makes the 1911's for the USMC SpecOps guys? |
I bring it up because I want to see the second amendment survive, and I don't understand why other people who claim to support the second amendment also support a company that has no respect for the second amendment. |
for M16/M4s? they dont, they are still mostly Colts. FN is making them now however. |
There's no doubt that Colt makes a high-quality AR, and no question that they have outstanding quality. My only beef with them is that they are significantly overpriced. The cost of the MP testing is at most $10-20, yet Colts often command a $300 premium over equally well-built products. I don't dislike the product at all, I love it - I just dislike their pricing. |
Actually, HK is a completely different situation. HK is hamstrung by the 1989 Import Ban. HK went out of it's way to produce products for the civilian market (SL8-1 and USC), but these products were rejected by consumers. Colt CHOSE to alienate the civilian market. |
1) Because the M16A4's are sold at a huge LOSS to FN. How is that for cheap. 2) Because they are cheap and Bushmaster has no militry contrcts to get in the way of avilability. 3) In house armorers. |
I don't know why, but I love my rampant Colt on my SP1. I haven't bought a new Colt AR, partially because they won't sell me one.
I am still thinking about buying an used Colt 1911. |
It's about getting the best tool. I'd dance a jig for the devil for a Registered Reciever. |

There are other factors involved. Suffice it to say that they make a lemon here and there, but you re less likely to get one from them. All the Colt's I've ever owned (3) have run right out of the box. I can't say that for all of the others. |
Well, since you mentioned it; I just got the paperwork back for my Colt RR. |
Not anymore. They started out that way. |
Why do YOU PEOPLE love Colts so much?
You people? Who is you people? You are obviously a racist. Your whitness sicatates me. |
I dont buy COLT
simply its to expensive. I can get parts that are very close if not on par with Colts quality for less money. that and Colt are complet douchbags when it come to supporting our 2nd admendment rights and they try there best to keep there better gun from us. |
I got my colt thru a private deal and it was cheaper than anyother for me. I also like to have my firearms work with out haveing it worked on by me or a gunsmith, it's the only one Ive bought other than my glocks that not only had the sights straight but actually worked. My builds and teh builds I do for my friends all have colt bolt and carriers other lowers and uppers.

Springfield built some pistols, as they have for CAG. |

That's a good one! |
Can't...stop...laughing.... |

You get what you pay for. Do it right the first time or you get to pay for it twice.
Go Bears!
Oh, I thought this was a football thread. Go drink your kool-aid. |
Noveke is supposedly up there too. They use MPI parts as well. |
Yea so buy a Bushmaster |
I'd go to war with John Noveske's gear any day. Many of our SOCOM boys already do (though not officially or on Uncle's dime)! Their Afghan profile M4 Barrel is a real "Taliban Slayer." |
I wouldn't take a Bushmaster if you gave it to me. I don't want to own junk. |
My biggest problem with Colts is the big pin little pin upper issue.
Last time I checked each and every M4 in the US Military were marked 'Colt'. FN provided some M16A2s and some of the M16A4s, they are hardly 'most' of the US Military's arsenal (especially if you count all the Colt GAU-5s and M16A1s in AF and Reserve/NG armories.) |
odd, my mutt AR works great and hasnt broken, yet it is a blenderiffic mix of: bushy lower/fire control grop, white oak A3 upper, colt carry handle, DPMS b/bc/ch, bushy barrel, and a cheap assed gunshow special CAR stock. oddly out of the thousands of rounds I've put through it(mostly wolf no less) it has been every bit as reliable as the M4 carbine I had in the Army. |
You can buy my share of 'em |
Has not existed for many years. The only difference now is FCG pin size. That and quality control. And TDP compliance. And MPI/Proof load tested Bolts/barrels. And M16 carriers. And... well it's all been said before, ad nauseum, |

This is the essance of a free market place. Appearently over the years the trademark rampant Colt has meant quality, that is called goodwill in the business world, and of course it has meant that Colt can charge more than it's competitors for a their product and services. Personally I like them also, but I don't want to pay the premium because it isn't worth it to me. There are many who do pay the difference and it is worth it to them. When it comes time to sell them, a leader in its category will generally sell higher and faster. Why are you folks whining, this is the essence of captitalism, if you don't like A, you buy B or C etc. |

your post makes no sense |

Bingo. What JBowles is basicaly how I feel about Colt in a nutshell. Theres no dispute about the quality of a Colt, but are they the best? IMHO I dont think so. |
