Well, I suppose that depends on the meaning of "fall".
The British Empire was a different time, and a different type of economy.
If we mean "fall", as in the Roman Empire, the world falls with us.
If we merely mean that China or the Pacific Rim becomes the center of Power in the world, that's different, and could very well happen.  I don't think there will be any "Dark Ages", though, as a consequence.

Every nation falls eventually...the question is how and when.
Personally, I believe there will still be a country called the United States of America, with roughly the same borders, for several hundred years.  I do not, however, think that its government will be recognizable to us by then.

The Roman empire died a slow death with its citizens becoming fat and lazy while it's enemies became stronger under Roman rule. In the end, the Roman armies were more Barbarian/Goth and Visagoth than Roman. They just broke away from Rome and formed their own nations. There was nothing Rome could do about it.

Yes it will eventually.  Probably crumble from within due the the cancerous spread of the liberal mentality.  Hopefully not for the next hundred years or so.  We are still a very young country by historical standards.

Yes, perhaps sooner that you think. Look at the defense policies of bush. Look at the explosion of arms of all types in china and russia. We have sent all computor production to the east, and have none to repair our equip in the event that it is needed. The old adage of preparation with guns, food, clothing, and personal mental preparation may go along way into keeping you alive someday.

America as with any naion can fall but it dose not have to.
To look at history to find out how long a life America may have can be no help at all there has never been an America befor so what would you look for.

Well I can see Canada going into civil war before the US falls since Quebec (the province I live in) wants to separate and make its own country and the English who are the minority will not allow what would be to come. Already here the Quebec government has forced all immigrants to attend French schools and all signs to be French within this province. If we separated the Quebec government plans on abolishing all other languages but French in schools, at work. The laws they have already passed here for language are against freedom of speech, expression and even press. If this province does separate maybe it could spread over the boarder when war breaks out, in any case the English speaking people in Quebec wouldn’t mind some Americans to come over for some target practice [X]

I personally don't subscribe to this theory BUT there is a line of academic reason in which the United States (with its roots in British colonialism) is the modern day seat of the "Roman Empire" which extended into Britain and absorbed the peoples and culture... oh so long ago.

I'm old enough to remember the "Prophetic" speech made by "Nikita Krushchev" that Russia would never have to fire a shot as America would fall within (or words to that effect). This speech was in the late 50's. I believe the

Dk-Prof, you sure do sound a lot like those socialists that are trying to tax me to death and take away what little liberty I have left.  What's a person with views so far to the left doing on this board?  Anyone else think 65% taxation, your future predetermined, and basically not having to think for yourself at all, a good idea.

I want to agree with critter 100%. I came in on the 2nd page of this thread but I want to put my 2 cents in.

I have said it before and I will say it again when you eliminate god you can not have god given rights.
So with this in mind let me say my peace. The people in this country have basicly surrendered their country,their god,and their freedom but most of all their ability for self thought and
discernment.
The American people are just worried about their money,home,car(4x4 or SUV)and immediate self gratification.
With this happening they have given their destiny over to the Government. The government will feed us,protect us,pay us,look after us when old ect. ect. ect..They have totally put government in God's place.
The only thing these people don't know is that they are in the wrong country for this. They should have gone to england or another country because this country was designed for the government to stay out of your life and for the individual to work hard and make his fate.
Now with the bill of rights being in place we have the power to do that. The people who have just closed their eyes to the bill of rights now have the attitude of government being their mother,father,God,lover,provider.
The people of this country like it this way. That is why we have these problems(not just gun control) cause they elect these jerks into office or worse yet they don't even bother to vote. This alone just shows you they have surrendered. They have just put up their hands and said do what you wish. As long as I have my modern comforts. Little do they know the america that they have created is an illusion. And they have nothing or own nothing. When you can loose your farm cause of an endangered rat or you get kicked out of your home(like in NJ)for owning a certain type of gun. You own nothing!!!

Got to agree with LOUGOTZZ. The U.S. will fall, if it has not already. What a terrible thing to have to read or write about. My kids are just now teenagers and the crap they were taught in school almost got me arrested when I confronted the principal. They are now home-schooled. I don't know how good a teacher I am, but they will have a lot more respect for the U.S. Constitution, the Bill of Rights, and the Holy Trinity than they ever would coming out of a public school.

I know alot of people who are home schooled and the kids turn out fine. My wife tried it but couldn't do it. She gave it her best shot but it is not for everyone. It is a very hard and dedicated thing to do. I commend any and all who try it and do it. The Government is no longer: for the people, by the people, and of the people. That is why America is/has started to fall. It is just a matter of time before it is a total heap of rubble. It saddens me to think that this great land that my relatives fought for and gave me the ability to choose my own religious beliefs without doing it in secret is on its way down. In other countries you can get shot for not being part of the state religion. People don't realize that after all the guns are taken away they will get rid of other rights and being the government is in the place of god they will not want anyone worshiping any other god but them.So, the 1st amendment  will be next on the list.After that 4th and 5th can say good bye also.
Eventually the bill of rights will be just theory. And like my first post the people want this. It is all an illusion. God help us all.
I want to know if there would be a fuss if people had to get a background check or a license to practice their religion. Or maybe they had to get government permission to buy a bible or a koran at a book store. Would they be upset? It just seems to be that the 2nd is expendable. The citizens don't have the moral or godly insight to see something is wrong. As long as the economy is good they don't care who is in office. And that is exactly how the anti christ will enter into being the world leader.
