Colonial clothing, weavers, spinners, soap makers, etc. will also be available for viewing and questions & answers.

Seminar Schedule will be announced on this site as soon as we have it.

The Fair was created for gunmakers to show their talents, but also to learn how to improve upon them. The Fair has expanded to include accoutrements such as possible bags, horns, etc. There is no admission charge for this event to attend the seminars or visit with the more than 70 craftsmen and women, who come to share their time and talents. Items are for sale at the booths, if you choose to purchase something. The shop will also be open during the Fair. Food is available for purchase on the premises. Parking is Free. [/center][/i]

Looks like a Ferguson rifle to me.

I forget the name of the gun that was asked about but I believe you turn the trigger gaurd and the plug in the top of the barrel drops down and you load the ball and powder through the hole, then turn the trigger gaurd back and prime the pan and your ready to go.

Thanks for the pics.   Looks great.   Is that a modern copy of the Ferguson?   If someone is making them, what do they run?

That rifle is a modern copy of Patrick Ferguson's rifle. I believe they are going for $6500.00 and there is a looooong wait. Almost 2 years. The gun is accurate. It uses 60grs of powder for the charge. As mentioned above, its loaded thru the hole when the triggerguard is unscrewed.

It sure seems like the ultimate flinter.

Wondering, if England hadn't had such a distaste for rifles and marksmanship, and if PF hadn't been knocked off at King's Mtn., would we be saying "God save the ________" today?

There is a new rifle this gentleman was showing and its called a P17. It is a German copy. I couldn't photo it because it hasn't been officially announced to the public just yet. A distinguishing feature of that rifle is a metal ramrod that slides in a carriage attached to the end of the barrel.

I think I'll have to forgo the Ferguson for a bit.

Yeah, the images would have been better if it hadn't been so crowded. Dragging the shutter and getting bumped just doesn't mix.

BTW, ever hear of Tennessee Valley Muzzleloading? They were there with a tent and lotsa guns to see.

In fact, I found my "Babe of the Day" there. She's an Early Lancaster in .54 with a 42"....  barrel. Wish I had photos to post.

Those are the kinds of measurements I like to fondle.  [:D]
