I'm (that is, in my sinful nature) not real happy about that, but I'm MORE grateful to my Saviour, and try to obey His commands (as given in Scripture) re: guns and religion - Its a false idea that weapons are ant-religion. In teh Bible, God clearly indicates that PEOPLE are responsible for their actions, and that inanimate objects are INCAPABLE of being morally right or wrong. ONLY people can commit moral or immoral action with them. At Jesus Crucifixtion, His disciple Peter drew his sword, and was going to defend Christ from thos who would crucify Christ. Note Jesus response (its VERY telling) Christ said "Peter, put your sword away. This is not the place for it." Christ didn't berate Peter for owning a sword. In fact, Christ acknowledged that weapons have their rightful place in society (i.e., THIS is not the PLACE for it.") Not to make any undue assumptions, it is typically the Liberal religious demoninations (those who say Christ wasn't virgin born, and that teh Bible isn't God's word) that see firearms as "immoral." Hope this helps. As a note, this may explain why some people are rightfully pissed at false religion, but wrongfully pissed at true (i.e. God given) religion. |
