What is the hole for in this one, and why does the new marine bayonet (2nd picture) not have one?

If anyone knows advantages/disadvantages to both, please let me know because i'm going to pick one of the two up sometime in the future.

You lose a little blade strength with the hole, but the cutter is damn handy.

I keep a Bulgarian AK-74 bayo in my car specifically for the wire cutter.  It is the shit . . . it will cut wire that most wire cutters wouldn't touch PLUS its insulated for up to 40K volts.

w00t!

dang.  i like the new marine style better.  but if i'm going for practicality i should probably get the one with the wire cutter.  unless i'm a really good shot.

I prefer a bangalore to clear barbed wire, and like the knife without a hole.

Not eveyone needs a wire cutter.  Sorta like not everyone needs a survival knife with a real tree saw and fish hook

Go for the USMC one.  Better blade, more comfortable handle, lighter

It's a sight you just line it up with the bad guy(look straight through it at the stabbie)when he is within sticking range just rotate your hand and wrist  and stabe the hell out of him!!!!

Is a blood grove kind of like an orange grove, but in Hell?

IT's not the volts that will necessarily kill or harm you, it's the amperage.
