Wouldn't think so. I soak mine 15 minutes or so everytime I go shooting so over the years it would have been damaged if it were going to be.
#9 powder solvent - NOT LEAD solvent right? |

you know, the liquid stuff that comes in every hoppes gun cleaning kit? would have to go look at the bottle- brown bottle, yellow label w/red text...

No but it will contaminate all
of your Hoppes 9. I usually just brush the bolt with an AP brush and use pipe cleaners to keep the inside clean. If you are worried about hard carbon in the rear, wrapping pipe cleaners soaked in Hoppes around it and turning will take it off quickly. My bolt has a pretty smooth coating so there is not much that will embed itself and require an overnight solvent soaking. |

was just thinking about pouring some in a cup and dropping the bolt in and just letting it soak overnight...

No, it won't hurt it one bit, but it will clean it good though. I would not worry about it. wipe it off, and apply some CLP or what ever you use afterwards.

I soaked a Colt 1911 barrel in Hoppes #9 overnight once. The next morning the barrel had disolved into goo lying in the bottom of the bottle. The Hoppes #9 had melted the steel ! [>(] just kidding [:)] |
