I wanted to know how small you're allowed with a shotgun?  Pistol grip and 18" barrel?

This is the correct answer.

Barrels must be at least 18".
Overall length must be at least 26".

Rifles must have 16" barrels.

Of course rifles and shotguns can legally have shorter barrels with the proper tax stamp.
