How do I do it? I have an extra computer I can setup by the tv. Is there a special cable/software available? I greatly appreciate any info you can provide! Thanks

The DVR625 has a USB port.  I have not yet made a connection, so I am interested in this as well.

Can't be done digitally.
I have a DVR-501, DVR-510, and a DVR-921.  None of these will permit digital recording to another device.

The only way to do it is analog. Use the "S" video output, depending on your PC setup you might be able to use the optical audio output if not - use the analog audio outputs.

This is not the best option because all you will get is an analog recording but its the only way....

From what i've been reading after i posted this is that the usb ports are not active. Like the other guy said, you can capture the analog with a capture card in your computer. You cannot take the hard drive out because it is encrypted.i am still looking for a hack to enable the usb port
