I would not mind having one personally. I'm not an HK fan boy though. I'll probably wind up going the Leitner Weise route though if I ever let the gas piston bug get the better of me.

The article states that because of the shortness of the gas tube, that problems arrise and then implies that it's because of the M4's full-auto rate of fire (as opposed to the M16's 3-round bursts). Now... I may have missed something somewhere, but aren't most SF guys trained to avoid full-auto in favor of aimed, accurate semi-auto fire? In which case, their point is moot. But I suspect that most of their points are pointless...

I'd buy the upper as an upgrade kit, but H&K shits on civilian firearms sales, much like Colt does.

This is unfair as the soldiers were using AP ammo. But overall the article is very interesting. |
