WTH, I just got our bill. We are on the budget billing plan where it takes your average usage over the past twelve months and it has gone from $70 to $90 over the past three months.

I heat only 1,000 sqft of a 2,000 sqft house and the actual usuage was $130 worth!!

1750 Sq ft. thermo set on 72.No one knows how to turn off lights in family but me and mine is about $130 for Central IL.

Pretty good as far as Im concerened.I blew in another Foot of insulation a few years ago.I think it helps.

I wouldn't complain if I were you. Here in NYS, my oil heat bill is going to top $2500 just to heat the house and make hot water this year.

My electric for the year is $1500 on top of that.

That's $4000 just for heat and electric.

Cable, telephone, sewer, and water: $2300 a year.

Property taxes: About $6000 (on a 1400 sq. ft. home with about 1/4 acre).

That's all for a family of three.

Don't get me started on insurance, etc.

I live by myself in a 1500sq ft house, here in AZ I haven't had to use any heat yet so my power bill averages about $26/month total.
During the middle of winter it'll increase to about $70/month (gas furnace @ 68 degrees).

My bill last month was over $330. I would LOVE to see a $175 bill. But that is what it costs to keep your house and pool at 75 degrees in Florida.

Gas bill went up $35 dollars last month a 50% increase in one month… there is no heat on yet just cooking and water heater.

It is going to be very ugly when it does get cold, no way in hell I will be able to afford to heat the house over 55.

Just south of Huntsville am cooling 2500 sqft. 76.47 for elec on yesterday's bill. Add 7-8 bucks for gas stove. Oh yes, I put in a new Carrier 1.5 ton unit a couple of months ago. Usage vs same period in '04 was down about 15%. I keep the two units on 82 and 77, but that's not the actual temp in the house.

Last 3 months...$331, $332, $289. This next month should be well below $200. Summer stinks, but this winter is gonna SUCK...gas heat.

Single guy in 1600 sq ft 3br condo. Central air, gas heat and cooking. Digital programmable thermostat varies temperature. During summer temps are at around 72 degrees when I'm home, otherwise it's set at 85 (effectively "off").

Gas bill: $20-30 ($17 is "delivery" and "service" charges

)
Elec bill: $50-80

About $150/month average. We have an all-electric house with about 2500 sq ft temp controlled. About 800 of that is in the basement.

We keep our thermostat set around 75 in the summer and 68 in the winter.

It's been doing 3 to 5 miles after work on Tue/Wed/Thr but on the weekends it does 7-10 miles each day.
It will be ready for a marathon in no time.

In the summer, and now still qualifies, we run $300 plus. Drops to less than 80 in the winter time. Tucson is a great place, but even keeping the AC at 78 in the summer is costly.

It has been hot as hell in Florida this summer, this was really a miserable year. Our electric last month was $350 and it's been in that range for a couple of months.

Luckily we're coming up to winter so it should soon start getting a lot cheaper, down to something like $120-150/month which will be nice.

House is a 2 story, ~2600 sf and with someone home all the time, tons of windows and a pool so it's to be expected but still the last months bill freaked me out a little.

I can't wait for winter to get here!

Dude, you need some insulation!

2200sq ft in Tuc. 78 degree setting, $175. It has never topped $200. When I can run the evaporative cooler, it is 1/2 of that.

In my Mesa doublewide, I average about 200 during the summer. Usually keep the thermostat at about 79.

$96 a month on the budget plan. Actual bill is about $40-50 a month in the summer, $90-130 in the winter.

My wife likes the 1500 sq ft condo at a chilly 68 degrees. I am paying 250 a month in the summer. I cant wait for winter.

$56 dollars for a 2300 sq.ft. home in Southern California last month. My bills peaked this year at $124 one month.
