At least it ain't heroin... James is strong - he'll be OK. Probably just too much free time on his hands lately.

I believe this happened a few years back...he must have fallen off the wagon? Be strong!
BTW- #1 Metallica fan here! I was with them from the beginning and even stuck around after they went alternative....(Load etc.) I think I will go toss in my Ride the Lightning CD.... Later... John |

I got turned on to Metallica in '84 with their first album "Kill 'em All" but fell away after the Black Album.
I always knew that James loved to drink, but from what I gathered he had a grip on it. Guess not. I wish him well. I'm still wondring why Jason left. Guess I'll have to wait 20 years to see Behind the MUsic on VH1. [img]http://www.ncsg.org/topohat-small.jpg[/img] |

Yeah, good luck to James, definately. I've met him and chatted with him; he's a real friendly guy. A couple of years ago, he had quit drinking, but he had recently started again.
Metallica has been my fave band over the years, since Kill 'Em All, and I've seen them on most every tour since 1986. Hopefully they'll be back in the groove soon. Without a doubt, THE GREATEST METAL BAND EVER!!!
I was always a big fan, but after the tour with G N'R back in '92- they became my all-time favorite band. Awesome energy, knew how to get the crowd into the show, and the best drummer of all time! I wish them all the best, and know James will pull through just fine... he's one tough SOB! |
