I am outnumbered 4 women to one man in my house. I need to know..
What goes better with Chili. Crackers or Cornbread? My wife and girls say crackers. I say cornbread.
The Chili will be ready in about 1 hour so you can understand my urgency. Thanks.

Depends. Who's making the corn bread?

No contest:  Cornbread

When picking a side for with chili you need something with more character than crackers.

Have both, let them try the cornbread and discover for themselves that it really is better.

FOX: It will be the wife making the cornbread. Its good enough for you to smack yo mama over.
Fluffy and buttermilk flavored on the inside and nice and crispy on the out side. Also there is real butter in the fridge.

It doesnt matter, If the girls all say crackers, so be it.. The first rule of dealing with women - they are always right... It doesnt matter if they are really wrong.......

I say please everyone and have both!!!

Pfft, next thing you're gonna tell me there's no rice in the chili and it's not spicey enough to degrease big-rig engines.....

Cornbread, but really just southern cornbread. Northern cornbread's too sweet and cakey. (Or do I have my cornbreads mixed up?)

Nope. You have it correct. The upper states hide everything with sugar because they cant cook.

And yes you could melt metal with this chili. Thanks god the women like it spice. And also Gaviscon and Prilosec are in the cabinet.

( as well as Bean-o )

That puts a very different dynamic on this.  If she doesn't want to make the cornbread and you're not willing to make it yourself, you're having crackers dude!

I say make the cornbread yourself.  It's not that hard.

My girl says cornbread.  I think that's awful.  There are only six things that ever can be added to chili:

1 Cheese
2. Spagetti noodles
3. crackers
4. Chopped Onions and jalapenios
5. Lots of hot sauce!

I am assumming that you already added the beans.

Cooking is not the issue with me. Just ask anyone here that knows me or has visited my farm for shoots.
It boils down to a discussion between my wife and the three heirs to my fortune ( or lack of ). They think I am weird because I want cornbread with it.

They like the macaroni and cheese and sour cream in theirs.
Me I like it with just a spoon in it.
It has big chunks of burger in it plus a rather large surplus of kidney and chili beans.

ding, ding, ding, ding - we have a winner. If you want to get loose plant the slice of cornbread in the bottom of the bowl and smoother it in chili. BTW, I hope your chili is bean free like a real American.

Fritos go good with chili, too.  Put them on the top with grated cheese.
