Well just left the OU kansas football game and we heard a loud explosion during the 2nd half. Word is there was a sucide bomber.. No major news stations reporting it yet. Might be a flase alarm, but it's all over the local news. Don't know any details yet, just what I heard. All the police on the sidelines left and they would let anyone leave the statium during halftime.

Just got home.
It was a deep boom. We all heard it. The cheer guys shoot off 12ga blanks after each toughdown and it was way ouder than that. |
Confirmed! One dead and a second device found. I'm watching the local news right now. I'll post links
That's what was said in the other thread as well. Said they held them there for around 30 min. |

They paged all bus driver who had bussed parked near the stadium to report to university police right away, that's when I knew something was wrong. The balst was about 300 yards form the stadium in Cross hall. Everyone heard it over the noise. It was so loud and deep.

True. |

Unwind the tinfoil guys. The lib media would love a muslim attack here at home.
Give it time, the news will get out. |

NORMAN -- An explosion near the University of Oklahoma's Gaylord Family-Memorial Stadium killed one person Saturday, OU officials said.
A statement from OU president David Boren called the explosion "an individual suicide." The identity of the person killed is not known. The explosion happened at the courtyard near the George Lynn Cross Hall, Botany-Microbiology Building on OU's campus, which is west of the stadium, according to Sgt. Gary Robinson of the University police department. A smaller, second device was found in the area and detonated by police at 9:05 p.m. The first explosion happened during the second quarter of Oklahoma's game against Kansas State. "We had no idea of any threat this week," Robinson said. After the explosion, police set up a perimeter of several blocks and swept the Asp Avenue parking garage. Police also brought in their hazardous device unit, which was already at the game. |

We have a mosk that is about 1/4 mile from where it all took place.
I have heard a few pipe bombs go off, but never something like this. I mean it rocked us. Everyone started talking about he OKC bombing and how it sounded just like that.
The news is reporting that there was one main expolosin and the second one was the bomb squad trying to detonate the second one.

Thinking out loud...2nd explosive device? Uhhhh, this could'nt just be a suicide? It had to be intentional and aimed at??? Is there a disgruntled Muslim Mosque Shaman in the news in Norman? Maybe a Muslim "peace" march lately?
After 9/11 the mosk was vandalized and they haven't got over it just yet.
Sounds to me like just a sucide, but that was one loud bang. |
oubeta,
Please keep us updated with your local news. Fox news hasn't had a single thing on about it since 2230 - that's when I turned it on. Yeah, there's another thread...so what. |
Will do. I'm headed out to campus to see what is goign on. My car is parked about 100 yards form where it happened. I hope i can get my car home. I'll keep yall updated.

Bali was bombed again, probably by AQ.
10-01) 05:30 PDT BALI, Indonesia (AP) -- Explosions went off Saturday in tourist areas of Bali island, injuring at least three Westerners, a private Indonesian radio station said. The blasts occurred along Jimbaran beach and in Kuta on Bali island, El Shinta radio reported. In 2002, blasts linked to the Jemaah Islamiyah militant group killed 202 people, mostly foreigners. |

A second explosion / device? Oklahoma City? Never happen!
Mass hallucination by 84,000, no doubt |
Just went to go get my car and we could get close to where I was parked. The local news is off, but there are several cops, fbi, etc all over campus.
I think is was just a sucide. If they wanted to hurt people where were 80k people a few hundred yards away and the bars were packed sholder to sholder. I'm sure it will be on Fox any time . |
Govt agent/spokesperson... "Yes, this was a suicide. Yes, there was an explosive/bomb. Yes the person killed themself with an explosive/bomb. No, It was NOT a suicide bomber."
Hopefully this is the case. Cant help but wonder though, if maybe that was his intention, and just had a premature detonation/malfunction. |
Don't we all know that the Gov't has devices to cause such devices to explode prematurely?
I don't know, it just doesn't add up to me. Why would someone make multiple explosive devices to commit suicide and then proceed to do it just outside a crowd of 84000 people? It's possible, but just doesnt sit with me right. |
Didn't you hear? His wife said he was a minute man. |

do they have the haz dev team at every game?? or is it possible they may have had an indication something was up? |
My buddy on the Norman PD department is in the middle of it right now. He will call as soon as he gets time and I will pass on any info he gives.
