Its funny the things you remember when you get older. I was not much more than 3 when I was at the same wedding where my cousin was. At that time he was driving a BRIGHT RED Alfa. That started it all right then, the love of cars and RED toys. Not that I would ever be able to afford them. He went on to race for Ferrari. Unfortunately, not very successful. Many years later with the help of the internet, we got back in touch. Allan is now in his 80's, has children and grand hildren. He said the Ferrari scared the living S*** out of him beacuase it was so fast.
This past week he sent me a note, it said: It was an honor to offer the life of my only grandchild to the service of my country.
From Friday's Palm Beach Post:
On Wednesday, Airman 1st Class Elizabeth Nicole Jacobson of Riviera Beach became the first woman from Palm Beach County to die in the Iraq war when a roadside bomb exploded near her convoy.
Jacobson died near Camp Bucca, near the southern Iraq city of Safwan. She is the ninth Iraq casualty from Palm Beach County and the Treasure Coast.
How small those red cars now are in life.
