My 96 GMC Jimmy that is.     BOTD= BLAZER OF THE DAY
I hope you wasn't thinking something else. Perverts

Any suggestions on a good wax for it? It needs to be clay bared to get rid of surface contaminates and the paint is in perfect shape. It just hasn't been waxed in about 2 years.
I have used Maguire's before with excellent results.
I dont have a picture of her but this is it exactly.

For is all I own with the exception of this Jimmy and a Monte Carlo SS. I couldnt pass up the cash deal for them. Trust me, that IS THE ONLY REASON I WOULD BUY A CHEVY.

Stick to Meguire's. Actually they have a three step Deep Crystal system that is great. It has a paint cleaner, paint polisher, then use the carnuba wax (Gold Class). It works damn good. The first two steps are wipe on wet and immediately wipe off, then just wax.

Wash with Dawn dishwashing soap. Dawn will strip any remaining wax/ oil & tar.
Clay bar. Try Zaino . Its a 3 step process and takes about 7 hours from wash to final buff.
Zaino is the best. Minor PITA to apply due to the 3 step process. Good forearm workout

They get a good workout as it stands.

I had a friend recommend the Zaino process. I dont mind the time spent on this because it stays garaged up with the SS mostly. I want it to be good though.

Two coats of Nu-Finish (in the orange bottle) will keep working in bad climates (like the Gulf coast) for about a year, protects the finish really well.  If you don't mind the cost, do two coats of Klasse All-in-One and two coats of the Klasse High Gloss after that and you will be fine for 18 months in really bad climates.

Well it looks like I will settle on the Maguires four step process.
I guess I finally get to have my Jimmy waxed after all...

You need a fullsize blazer if you must drive a blazer.

That wasn't right.

What you do to your Jimmy in the privacy of your own garage is your business.

Just because you have conditioned yourself to look at only threads with BOTD in the title doesnt mean that it cant mean something else. Pervert!

Nice Blazer that you have there Hedonist.
Yea, mine was bought as a second purchase that day. I found a 2001 Monte Carlo SS Collectors Edition with 32,000 miles on it for $14,000. cash. Aftre talking the guy down and then offering to buy the Blazer ( which works out well on my farm ) I walked away ( or drove away ) with both for $15,000. I couldnt pass it up.
It does great on the farm buy mostly sits in the garage.

The BOTD warning was a TRAP.

So here goes.

No matter how hard you try, you CANNOT wax it into being a FORD !

Yes, but is the rear door/tailgate on the new fords heated?  If he gets a Ford, it would be at least nice to keep his hands warm, when he is having to push it around in the winter.

Nice Z dude...

Bet they rape you on insurance.  I was shocked when I got my first bill after I brought home my WRX Wagon.  That shit shot up 150 bones a month.  But I sure can get the dogs to the Vet and the groceries in a hurry.

It's called Zaino and there are too many steps for me.

I bought this system and love it! Klasse kit

You can't wipe the Klasse on everything on the car...glass, plastic, rubber bumpers and it does'nt leave that white residue. The shine is unreal. I always wondered how detailers did it. Now I know.
