Fog or Stream pepper spray?

What is better for civilian use? I want to get some for my mom and sister....

I vote stream.

Better range and less chance of blow-back.

But either should hit your mom and sister well enough if they are standing close to each other!

Fog is good because it's like a shotgun pattern. One drawback is it is easily affected by wind.

Stream is good if you can keep your cool. It also has a longer range and is less affected by wind.

Stream.

Stream, it's easier to see and aim directly at someone whereas fog will just go all over the place and might incapacitate your mother and sister.

Depends on the environment there in:

outdoors fog

indoors stream

If its windy though go with the stream. One of the best effects pepper spray has is on your breathing if its in fog form its easier to inhale.

Stream.  When you buy it, pick up one or two inert cans and have them practice.

i have the mist, and i used a real one to test the spray. at 15 feet it had a 24 inch wide pattern, that settled out pretty well so wind would not affect it as much as a fog. i have played with the stream ones and they are hard to get a good hit at 15 feet, yes i would get a splash on the target but not a soaking. the mist i have will soak a paper towel at 15 feet in 1 second. i carry a 2 oz unit that sprays for 4 seconds. the same makers fod sprays for 2 seconds, and the stream for 6.

ETA, nothing like burning up 60 bucks of peper spray to test, my eyes where water for an hour

Fog.. Up close and personal is where this would get used. Stream, unless it hits the guy, won't do a thing. Fog will affect anyone close to it and let the victim break and run.

stream has blowback potential too. I know from personal experience another option to look at in o.c. is the foam. like stream but thicker

We carry foam at work. It shoots a pretty small pattern like stream but is very resistant to wind and wont fog up the whole backseat like fog.

Foam is ok until the person on the receiving end scoops it off and throws it back in your face.  No thanks.  We had a problem like that in the local jail.  Stream OC and tasers now.

Depending on the laws in your area, get the Aerko Punch-II M-3 in fog.  It's actually a cone shaped mist. At 6-7 ft it will cover the bad persons entire face/head.  It also contains a orange dye that temporarily marks the bad guy.  When I worked the street it was one of my favorite party favors.

I've used both and will never use fog again. you might get blowback with stream, but you WILL with fog.

STream, less ends up in your eyes, and more goes to the perp's eyes.

ETA....Beware the hydraulic needle.
