What is the best anti-virus software?
I know this is a newbie question but right now I have Norton. I heard that this is not the greatest.

I haven't had any problems with Norton in four years!  Now running Norton Internet Security 2005 and will upgrade as and when needed.  I have a 1 Mb connection which is never turned off and access various P2P sites daily!  Just keep what you got updated and it should be fine.........

To each there own, But I love AVG's free version. Not a resource hog and well, it works.

If you want the best, go Norton.  It is proven, backed by a reputable company, and just works.  However, be aware that it can be a system resource hog....

If I had a search function that I could use in GD, I would know. The membership is on it's way but how am I supposed to not dupe if I can't search GD?

norton is shit.  i spent all that money for norton 2005, and it couldn't detect all the trojans that made it on my machine while norton was supposed to be protecting me.  my computer was fucked up beyond belief.

i downloaded a free trial of trojanhunter after the guys at castlecops.com reccomended it.  it found 4 trojans on my machine as well as some other nasty stuff.  after that, my computer worked great.  guess what i use now...

oh, and AVG was mentioned above...  i'd take that over norton or mcaffee any day.

The trouble must be coming from all the gay porn he's downloading.

In my experiance with Norton at home, work and working on peoples PC's, it's crap. But others have no issues with it.
