So the daughter brings her homework over for help. No problem i thought, I can definately do 3rd grade math.
Wrong.  #1 - Matthew ate sixteen candy bars on Monday, and nineteen on Thursday. How many did he eat in all? Write the equation. Solve the problem. Write the equation fact family. Ok, equation is simple enough. 16+19=35. Easy enough. Well, by doing that that solves the problem....... But the real thing I dont get is that last one. What the hell is the equation fact family??  Shit, I'm not lookin forward to 4th grade.......

If I had to guess I'd say it is some made up crap to justify giving the 'tards who don't even try a passing grade anyway. |

I have the same problem with my 3rd grader's homework. They seem to have different techniques for everything these days. I know the answers, but sometimes the method is off the wall.
Must be that "new" math. |

No wonder we have a problem with fat kids in school and everyone wants to ban junk food machines!
