I was listening to the Tony Snow show this morning, and he passed along a rumor about the N.O. deserter police. Tony was claiming that 249 of them bailed out, and that the real number may be closer to 700... apparently, they were not really policemen, but friends of the notoriously corrupt Edwin Compass, who later today, resigned in disgrace.

It should be noted that he was under federal investigation for this little problem, PRIOR to that big, blustery fat girl "Katrina" stepping into The Big Easy for a coupla drinks with some sailors.

Who has more complete info on this deal?
