I was sitting at a relatively new McDonalds the other day and I noticed the sign said "over 90 billion served".  I got to thinking it means 90 billion for all McDonalds but then I saw another one that had over 99 billion served.

Obviously the new store hadn't served 90 billion people and none of the signs ever match.  So what do you say do you think they vary by district or region or is it a blatent lie?

I thought it would be funny if it was just all bullshit.

I take it as "over 99 billion burgers served worldwide"

Then why do their signs vary from 85 billion to 99 billion?

Money or laziness to update

There is NO WAY a single store has served even 1 billion burgers

People who ate VS people who died from their nasty "meat".

Probably because of when the sign was purchased.

Around here, they replaced all of the signs, and they now say something like "billions served".

It means they have served a few burgers................................

The numbers on the sign.................. It's like trying to synchonize all the clocks in your house.

A little more precision than being off by 15 billion.

My dad remembers when their spokesman was Speedy and not a clown named Ronald.

This guy on top of the sign.  He is Speedy.

Yup!  And there was a slotted number holder in front of the word 'millions' so they could change the number as needed...

I think it is nation or world-wide served.  I heard somewhere that they had those signs back in the 50's or 60's.

I remember those days too!  The one in Aberdeen, Md.  used to say "Billions and Billions Served". It may still say that for all I know..
