The DC snipers used a varmint caliber (.22 centerfire). That means anything with more power, like a 30-30 lever action, or a scoped hunting (sniper) rifle. |

In the event of a terrorist attack, riot, or severe storm like Katrina, local law enforcement should have specific information regarding which gun dealers have in their inventories firearms that pose a particular threat to public safety. Dealers who sell machine guns, assault weapons, 50 caliber anti-armor sniper rifles, or armor-piercing ammunition should be required to submit information on the make, model, and number of such weapons in their inventories to local law enforcement agencies on a regular basis. (WTF is an 'assault weapon'?) |

There has been a disaster and a lot of criminal behavior. That is when the anti-gun idiots come out of the woodwork to demand what ammounts to a backdoor registration scheme. The anti-gunners never pass up an opportunity to use criminal activity to demand the disarming of the rest of us so that we will be completely helpless in the face of thug elements that the libbies work so darn hard to release on the streets. Because we all know that "Assault weapons" (whatever that means) are MUCH more lethal than any other kind of gun. I knew a guy once who shot clean through an engine block with an AR15, and anyone who gets hit with an AK-47 will just disintegrate. There will be nothing left. It's true! Heard it at a gun show!
