I woke up this morning with this undying urge to buy a gun. I few years back I had a Marlin 60 and sold it when I needed cash and have missed its cheap shootin... so I bought another.

Scope = Simmons 3-9 (cheap but effective)

Beautiful wood on that baby. Those are the only rifles that rivals the 10-22 in aftermarket parts. I've had a few in the past and just might have to get another! Thanks for sharing.

That is some nice wood on that gun. The barrel looks shorter than usual. Is that a carbine model?

That stock is atypical of most rifles...damn, you've found a nice one.

Let us know how accurate it is....if it's as accurate as pretty you've got a keeper!

$160.00 at wallmart i own 2 . good guns but thier picky about ammo. cci works best for me.

Mine doesnt like the remington ammo that comes in the little milk type box.
When i was about 14 i was shooting one and i thought the round i just fired sounded strange.
So i emptied the tube, cleared the chamber, and guess what, the damn bullet was lodged in the barrel. I thank my uncle for teaching me about firearms when i was young.

And this is because the gun didnt like remington ammo that comes in the little milk type box?

Would this not have happened had you been shooting a Ruger or a Mossberg?

You made a comment about the subject at hand and then threw in a totally unrelated story about a completely different gun/ammo combination that squibbed out on you when you were 14.

I dialed it in with some Aguila ammo.. but I need to take it back out to the range and do some more with it this week. I will post pic's in a day or so.

I have an 81-DL that I use for plinking squirrels and starlings in the backyard with CB longs or shorts. Passed down from my grandfather, who used it for the same in the backyard only 2 houses up from mine 25 years ago.

Actually it got me thing that i was glad that someone had tought me about firearms, and that i didnt pull the trigger again. Did you have a bad day ? you seem a touch pissy tonight.

I KNOW the ones you are talking about... I was so f***in happy to have finished that box and I only buy Federal now. I have NEVER had so many failures to feed and no fire (Hammer struck, indented the rim yet no bang bang)

Remington thunderbolt was good stuff though.

BEAUTIFUL rifle there,,, tagging for a range report. Only think I dont care about is the tube fed mag, but then again now Sportsman guide has that new 22 tube feeder that you can load with something like 60 rounds in it and just pour them in... So, I'll shut up now!

I've got a 60 and a 10/22. I've got to give the 60 a little edge when it comes to accuracy although it's longer and heavier.

50 yards. Center shots are the first round, the shots to the left are after a bit of adjustment. Still needs some adjustment but I was in a hurry so I didnt go for perfection. I wont even post the 100 yard target.. needs work :)

Very nice. Beautiful stock. I piicked up a Marlin Model 60 about a year ago and that stock makes me wish I hadn't cheaped out and got the basic wood.

BTW my 60 shoots those gold Remington hollow points all day without a hickup.

Though I have heard the Federals are a little more accurate, but haven't had a chance to test them.

Your accuracy problem isn't the gun, it's the ammo. That super duper maximum hyper velocity stuff is crap. Sure it's fast, but a CB will be more accurate. Get a brick of Wolf Match target for the same price, and those groups will tighten up to a quarter at 50yds. Even bulk pack walmart ammo will have better accuracy. With my modified 10/22 I can get dime groups of 5 on a good day, and that's with a 16 inch barrel, and the rifle weighs under 4.5lbs scoped.
