I met a guy once who swore "Blinded by the Light" was the best song ever. I like the song, but his enthusiasm for it was a little strange.
As for me, I can't pick just one. I like them all for different reasons. |

Amazing Grace.
Taps. Not sure if taps could be concidered a song, and I'm not sure if either of them would be concidered "greatest", but it's hard to find any other songs that can express so much emotion. There are a wealth of other songs that are great, but for me a "greatest" song has to be able to drive every emotion you have, and those two do it. |

I just stomached my way through Bruce Springstien's version  Manferd Mann's much better but still not worthy of greatest song of all time.I think songs are so personal, it depends on a lot of what personally is happened to you at the time the song was popular [or released]. For me: Foriegner: Head Games [I loved that song back when it was popular - I was in HS had a nice group of friends who I partied with, good times!] Bryan Adams: Summer of 69 - again good times. Spent the summer this song was released up in Everett Washington as a life gaurd. Had a lot of fun times back then! I saw Adam's in concert down in Tacoma on my birthday.  Just about any song off of the SPORT album by Heuy Lewis and the news. These are just good shooting the breeze songs! I loved Greg Kihn My loves in Jeopardy. Pat Benatar's Hit me with your best shot. Can't say I have a favorite though. Patty |

My 'greatest' song is dependant on my mood at the time the question is asked. For right now:
