Very few if any. You could never be a police officer but maybe a "special". Look into corrections but i think 36 is the cutoff.

In Illinois a willingness to confiscate firearms from individuals should qualify.

A career is pretty much out, you would not qualify under most retirement plans. I suggest a look at reserves or part time non-sworn positions (Crime scene techs, etc).

Most places here in Ohio have cutoff like at 36 yrs old. But as stated before depertments other than mine have reserves and specials as does the county sheriff

Apply for the Secretary Of State, Take the Test. They are letting up on age requirements to fill the 100+ positions for the new Capitol Police Agency, which will be under the SoS. Fifty might be pushing it, but they are pushing hard to get people in there. Best of luck, and if you do become an LEO, remember you were on us us non-LEO not to long ago, eh? |

Immigration Inspectors didn't have a cutoff age. I don't know if that has changed since they got folded over into the CBP Officer position.
