i have a copy of auto cad and been playing with it.
anyone have any good tutrial site on using it.

i need to make a templet in the shape of the 5 side of a dice.to make a router jig.
i am just trying to learn how to use it.

dots need to be 2 1/8 inches.
corner dots and centerdot  need  about 1/2 to 3/4 space between them.

I usually stick to lines, circles and the offset function. If you can set you're lines to be orthogonal (snap to either horizontal or vertical) that would simplify things. Draw a long vertical line and a long horizontal line -these will act as an origin and can be deleted later.

When you say that the dots need 1/2 to 3/4 between them, is that the gap between the dot diameters?

There are lots of ways to achieve this...I do mean lots.
Since no dimesions were given you will have ot fill in a bit.
1.Draw your 4 sided polygon to correct size
2.Use OFFSET to offset the sides inward to the correct distance.
3.Draw a lines from each oppisite corner intersecting in the middle
The offset lines should give you the four corner circles and the two intersectin lines from the corner will give you the middle.
4.Draw your circle to the correct size using the middle intersection as the center.
5.Copy that circle using the center of the circle as the copy point. Use the M option for multiple copy placing the copies at the remaining four intersections.

If you email me dimensions I can draw it up in a minute or two.
