Spent $700 on a .300 Winchester Magnum and some sort of fancy scope for it. Haven't seen any pics of it yet.

Any suggestions for customizing the rifle? Particular brand of ammo?

He's been wanting to go up north and hunt elk for years, but always complains that he doesn't have a big enough gun for it (even if the .30-06 isn't big enough for elk, and I think it is, he has the .264 Winchester Magnum; it just needs a new stock). Now he's got the gun and plans on saving up for the hunting trip. I plan on bringing the .30-06 for myself and the .45-70 in case of bear.

Also, between the $700 rifle and the $600 for my college tuition this semester... Do you think he'll have enough left to buy me a CZ-52 and some ammo for Christmas?

$600 on tuition? Where the hell do you go? Per semester, I spend twice that on books!

I see, enjoy it while it lasts.

There's a huge price juimp between a JC and a University.

I go to a full-blown University. The $600 tuition is what he pays after student loans and the small scholarships I've earned from my grades. My first semester I paid more for books than tuition.

My school is also rated as the 7th best deal in the U.S., so tuition is fairly inexpensive to begin with.

I don't know the make and model, he didn't give me a lot of information. I plan on finding out more tomorow.
