100/70 Libertarian.

Sorry, but you can't cut the budget by 50%. The unpaid
liabilites alone account for something like 40% of gov't
spending.

Unfortunately, we also cannot cut off Medicare, Medicaid,
and Social Security until we do something about medical
costs (tort reform).

Not to bash you, Orwell, but like most Libertarians, you
reason for an ideal world and it ain't there. Too many bad
decisions by our worst president, FDR, set the stage for
our nation to be a nanny state.

maybe it can't be cut by 50% immediately, but let's at least try and do something about it. we lost our liberties incrementally so I guess we have to get them back that way. BTW voting dem/rep isn't going to get liberties back.

Agreed. The problem is that most people don't want to
fight for their freedoms. Look how much progress gun
owners have made over the last few years. If we could
get the same traction with other personal freedoms, we'd
be on our way back.

Neither is voting Libertarian. I'd rather take libertarian
(small 'l') values into the Republican party and attempt
change from the inside.

that might work as a long term strategy, but right now the reps are as bad as the dems and I'm getting tired of the "lesser of two evils". I feel like I need to register my protest.
