Thankfully growing up I had no shortage of quality programing to provide me with suitable role models. I didn't know it at the time but these shows instilled in me some of the values I hold today.

I remember admiring "Pappy" Boyington from Baa Baa Black Sheep (1976-78).

Also liked The Wild Wild West (1965-1969) which I of course watched in reruns.

And I also enjoyed The Lone Ranger (1949-1957) again reruns.

And it got me wondering, are there ANY shows like this for kids today? Are there any shows that offer growing boys suitable role models? Or is everything just about embracing diversity and accepting people for who they are flaws and all?
