A few good friends of mine live about 25 miles west of Houston. Cant get in touch with them. Have people that far inland been evacuated?

There are people leaving Waco. It's four hours northwest of houston on a normal trip (around 16 hours right now).

As it stands now I'm in west harris county and they are saying that we should expect 75 mph winds.  As long as he's not in a flood prone area based on his location he should be ok.

If you draw a line from Dallas to Shreveport, I live on that line about 60 miles from Shreveport, and 120 miles from Dallas.

The storm is not expected to drop to a tropical storm until it is north of us.

You do the math on how many people that is........considering East Texas is one of the most heavly populated rural areas in the country.
