So do you think theyll make Texans turn in their guns in light of Rita...just as they did to the citizens of New Orleans, etc??

They wont be getting mine.

I think that trying to take Texan's guns away would make Hurricane Rita a relatively minor problem. IMHO.

Im closer to the heart of Texas...so im in no real danger....but im sure ill be seeing alot of rain soon.  It should about a category 2 or 1 by the time it gets to me.

On FNC that Napolitano guy just said that because of the culture in Texas, politicians would never even try confiscating weapons.  He also said that according to Texas courts, armed neighborhoods are allowed to shoot people that come onto their property to cause harm when the police cannot respond and shop owners are allowed to shoot looters.  Nice!  I have a lot more respect for Texas law.
