OK guys, here's the deal. My sister in law (16) in school in Northern Ireland has been assigned a report, the premise is the following:

"You're in a hot air balloon, and you're losing altitude. There are several others in the balloon with you. In order not to crash, somebody will have to jump out to save the others. You are George W. Bush. Articulate what you have done for the world, and why you should be allowed to stay".

She's asked me to help her articulate what George Bush has done for the world as she knows I voted for him. Keep in mind this needs to be from a world perspective and not a domestic perspective. An example I gave her was GW giving 10 billion or whatever it was he promised to fight AIDS in Africa. What I need is brief examples of what GW has done for the world. I know it's soppy, but my sis in law is a good kid, and I promised. Help a brother out!

Ok...here is the correct answer:  Think of this as your sister's Kobayashi Maru-a (No-win scenario.).

1.  Unless there is a massive hole in the gas bag, the balloon will settle relatively slowly, thus nobody needs to jump.

2.  IF there was a large hole and the gas was venting rapidly then NO ONE would survive.

3.  All people are equal in this scenario.  None deserve preference for any reason.  That said, some of us would sacrifice their lives for others.  Would Bush or another passenger do so?  Doesn't matter because...

4.  Bush, being a man of sound mind would not normally have climbed into a hot-air balloon without first ensuring that all safety features of the ballon were in proper operating order, that the pilot was not impaired in any way, that the weather was satisfactory for "flying" the balloon, and that there were no obstuctions that might damage the balloon.

5.  Why pose this silly question in the first place?  Her instructor could have just as easily have asked her to post a sort of curriculum vitae for Bush.  Just tell the class of his accomplishments.  Why put the BS in there about the requirement to sacrifice another life for Bush?

In any case, what Bush HAS done for the world is meaningless to liberals.  They don't think like most of us...so this entire exercise is a waste of time.

As President of the United States George W. Bush would do the following.

1. Since it is a hot air balloon he would tweak the propane jet and allow air to superheat in the envelope thus causing the balloon and basket to gain altitude.
2. That having assisted the people involved he would next release some sand that is used as ballast. Last time I checked passengers are not considered ballast.
3.  Upon landing he would asswhip the silly SOB that had neglected to problem-solve his way out of the predicament, had him hauled off to Marion Federal Penitentiary for a period of not less than 20 years and instructed the warden to lose the key.
4.  He'd then have organized a kick-ass Texas sized BBQ to celebrate the event and gone on to other issues of the day.

Because he's the 800 lb. gorilla in the balloon and the rest of the world can FOAD!
