The people here who have known me for some time may remember the posts I've made bitching about how I can't get a job.

Well, I been HIRED, mofos! And at Gannett, no less!

The problem? It's a telemarketing job. I'll be calling active and retired military during dinnertime, selling subscriptions to the Army/Navy/Air Force/Marine Corps Times.

I sold my soul for $9/hr plus bennies.

National Do Not Call Registry

WHAT YOU SHOULD KNOW ABOUT THE
NATIONAL DO NOT CALL REGISTRY
The National Do Not Call Registry gives you a choice about whether to receive telemarketing calls at home. Most telemarketers should not call your number once it has been on the registry for 31 days. If they do, you can file a complaint at this Website. You can register your home or mobile phone for free. Your registration will be effective for five years.

Congrats on the exciting new job.  Just think of all the new fun words you'll learn.    I try to be a polite person most of the time, but talking to telemarketers is one of my exceptions.  I don't feel obligated in the least to be nice to someone who bothers me at home to sell their wares.  I am on the no-call list so if you call my number you will get both barrels.  Nothing personal and sorry in advance!  Seriously, good luck!

You could make alot more than that as a prostitute and you wouldn't have to fuck as many people.

Congrats, but don't take it personally if you get a dial tone in the middle of your sentence (if i answer at all).

If you call a retired guy, and something very strange happens because you don't answer within 2 seconds of the guy saying, "Hello?",  post what happened here.

Really.

Seriously. congrats on getting a new job.

I got laid off last Friday.
