Don't need 30 gig of extra memory, but would like a little more.  Guess they package these cheaper cameras (paid 100 bucks for 4 megapixel camera) with just enough memory to get you started.

Do I have to purchase the extra memory from Olympus, or are there "generic" memory cards that will work?  Also, best place to purchase?

Thanks.

Guess it goes without saying as well...............don't know much about these digital things.

I think 64 meg would be more than enough...............I think.

Just looking for some cheap extra memory.

Any brand of XD Picture Card will work and a 128 meg card should have more than enough memory for that type of camera.

Here's what Walmart has listed on their website;

It depends on how big you shoot the images.  I always go for the little larger images/higher resolution stuff.  You can always make the bigger images smaller, but many times it harder to make the smaller images bigger.  For important stuff, like weddings, I always make them bigger, just incase I need a larger image.

Crucial if you don't have a Sam's Club or Costco by you (and you're not a member).

As others have said, stick to name-brand memory, with the exception of Crucial. I've got several of their cards and they all work 100% as good as name brand.

Seems like a pretty good deal.  Thanks again.

'splain. I have 4 of their CF cards for my Nikon digicams and a lot of their RAM for my computers and it's all been 100%...

Crucial's been great.

Went to walmart last night and picked up 128 meg of Fuji extra memory for 25 bucks.

I'm surprised how cheap memory is.  Works great, however.

Check sites like dealnews.com.  They track camera memory and post good sales.  Also search fatwallet.com for xd memory deals.

I recently bought several 64MB XD cards for my Fuji camera.  They were way less than $10 from surpluscomputer.com.  I actually prefer to have several smaller memory cards rather than one big one.  And most cameras seem to come with small amounts of memory--usually 32MB cards.
