Anything Clean the stuff, its got years of dirt grease and junk on it.

Depends....... is it brushed, polished, clear coated ?

I'd spray 'em with Eezox and quickly wipe them down.  That stuff is incredibe on guns too.

Best would be aluminum shot, but it's too expensive for a one shot deal, glass bead is fine.

Diesel and a stiff brush for the thick stuff.  Spray it down with carburetor cleaner for a final clean.

I use Brightner (Safety Bright) that you get from places that sell and service car/truck washes.  Spray on,  let sit for 30 to 60 seconds and rinse with pressure washer.  
Don't get the stuff with hydrofuloric acid unless you get the antidote also.  It attacks the calcium in your bones or something to that effect and makes you feel like your on fire.
Safety Bright wont hurt you but it wont clean as well either.

If it's dirt and grease, first start with a bath of hot water and dish washing soap (the kind you use on plates, not on wimmenz).

Then to polish, Mother's works well.

First, you have to get your stuff clean, then polish.
