My 99 Honda Oddessy is due for the 90k timing belt replacement. Anyone have a idea what it would cost? V6 engine.

as low as 200 as high as 650. Find a shop that specializes on imports, it will be about 350 but they do them all day long and it is second nature to them

If you go to a Honda dealer don't forget to bring the KY jelly so it hurts a little less.

Cocksuckers here in Fl charged me about $625 but I did get them to change waterpump and belts-
No labor charge since they have to disasemble anyway

Just checked into the same job for my CRV.
Received the same general price range.
Was told to make certain they replace the
water pump and certain seals/gaskets as part of the
job.
I'm at 100,000 and getting ready to have it done on my '98. I also have a 2002 CRV
which doesn't need it since it has a timing chain.

It's fucking expensive. I had to have it replaced on my accord.

Yeah most of the time they will replace the water pump also. They should check the cam seals, they tend to leak after 100k or so

i called a dealer yesterday and was quoted 975.00 which included the water pump and serp belt and seals. Also called a big independent chain and they were about a 100 less. i guess I'll have to bite the bullet.

Because the water pump acts as one of the pulleys in the belt path, and because they tend to fail soon after 100,000 miles (requiring all the labor of removing the timing belt anyway), you should always replace the water pump and the timing belt at the same time.

Most or all of Honda engines are "interference" engines, so if that timing belt breaks, chances are that a piston is going to hit an extended valve, and then you'll REALLY find out how expensive a car repair can be.

Your call, but I've never known anyone (who had their belt changed per the maintenance schedule) to ever have a problem. None of my Hondas have ever failed me, and I've lost very little money on them even after putting tons of miles on them. That's the typical experience, and why Honda sells so many cars here.

Mine was about $500 for my '97 CR-V. Of course, I had them do my 105K service at the same time, since I was a little overdue for my belt replacement, which was supposed to have been done at 95K. Total price for both jobs was over $1000. Pissed me off so bad.

But at least I won't have to worry about it again until I hit 190,000 miles....

Yup - get an American made POS like I did and instead spend $2500 when the tranny dies at 50,000 miles - woot!
