I was reading the latest Digital Photographer magazine on the treadmill at the gym this morning and saw that they had put one of the pictures I submitted in their Digital Photo Gallery section.
It was this one, from our trip to the Pacific Northwest back in June:

This is the second time they've picked one of my photos for that section.  The first was this shot from a 2002 trip to Arches National Park:

And the funniest part of it all is, I found out about the first photo the EXACT same way...reading the magazine on the treadmill at the gym.  Didn't know in either case that my photo was in the mag when I bought it!

Outstanding photos, RikWriter! Congratulations, and thanks for sharing! Now quit hogging the treadmill - the new issue won't be out for a month!

Ops

Some magazines pay a little for published photos, but generally reader-contributed works are just that - contributed.

That's awesome, RW!

Hope you don't mind, but I'm going to use that top one as my computer desktop for a little while. I change them every couple weeks.

Is this in any way related to the infamous "Full Power Shot."

For the top pic, I was using a Canon 10D.  The earlier one, with the moon over the big rock, was with a Sony F707.

It's in the Lady Bird Johnson Grove in Redwood National Park just north of Eureka, California.

Those are really great pics, Microsoft and Apple should pay you so they can include them in the background pics that come with their OSs
