I'd like to see the police department that requests this as a "post sample".
"Uh, Mr. Mayor the department needs a .22 minigun for the...um.... emerging rabid squirrel population."

More interesting is their mention of a "semi-auto crank fed version in the works". I wonder if ATF will approve it,seeing as it falls within their traditional view of a "non-machinegun".

Remember those old Western movies where a horse-drawn cart pulls up?  Then someone jumps back, pulls off the canvas, and a crank-fed gatling gun is sitting there!  Then they start mowing down the enemy.  Today, you can mount it on the back of a pick-up truck for, uh, anti-looter defense.

Dude... save your money and buy an old-ass Marlin Model 60 with an airgun scope.  At least that's what I had good luck with once.

Of course, those aren't beltfed....

Q: How many rounds does it hold, and what is its rate of fire?

A: The standard 'stick magazine' holds a full, fifty-round box of .22 cartridges...or about four seconds' worth! The rate of fire is basically dependent on how fast you crank the handle, though smoothest operation is achieved by staying below 600 rounds per minute. Check out the videos on our homepage for an idea of typical performance.

Some Kiwis sell .22 crank powered gatling guns too.  The magazine has a capacity of 720, which is pretty sweet.  Hook it up to a DeWalt drill and let 'er rip.

They also say they're developing a version in 7.62x39mm, and Thompson SMGs in .22 lr.
